Windows

Window selection is very important to the aesthetics and performance of a house. The R-value of the windows will be lower than the surrounding wall, but triple pane glass can achieve a much higher R-value than conventional double pane windows. If ultimate performance and design is important, we highly recommend installing European tilt/ turns windows. We have connections with dealers for European windows. European tilt/turn windows offer the best air and weather seal with three gaskets and multiple locking points to keep the window tight to the seals. These are European windows installed in a double stud wall assembly. We only trust tapes manufactured by Pro Clima and Siga. The adhesion and durability of these tapes are incredible and tested to last a lifetime.

The sill is flashed using a flexible tape manufactured by Pro Clima that folds around the corners to form a continuous waterproof barrier. The sill is pitched to drain the water outside.

This is the final product with the trim work complete.

The window is installed, shimmed, and secured. The exterior is sealed using a pre-folded tape manufactured by SIGA, always working from bottom to top to ensure proper lapping

The brackets inside the window are secured to the side jamb using structural screws providing a solid connection.

The side and head jambs are flashed using a self adhered membrane lapping over the sill flashing

The rough opening space around the window is first filled with foam to insulate around the window. The interior of the window is then sealed using a vapor open tape. This is an extra measure to ensure an airtight seal for generations
